Both styles are designed to slim the hips
and draw the attention vertically. Since
Peggy is quite fond of Earth
tones, I'm considering a light army/ khaki green with a warm gray toned
accent color or the light charcoal / dark charcoal combination.
Both designs are effective in acheiving the desired look so it becomes
more a matter of personal preference. However the design on the left
will detract more from the width and is a bit sleeker.

Peggy indicated that she really liked the charcoal and I
have to agree with her. Too: She liked the idea of the cityscape but
wanted a design that would feel completely cohesive. And so, rather
than the flat panel style, we're now working on an inset design that
would mirror the shape of the dress worn by the central character. To
this end, I like the sketch on the right. I does exactly as she
requested and adds a flirty touch with the inset that open and close as
she walks. The city scape would be painted, almost as a shadow, around
the hem of the front of the skirt and wrap around the back.

Haze, nice one again. I like the khaki green, or "hunter kiwi" :)
"Hunter Kiwi"... That has a nice ring to it.
they all look wonderful!!!
But I love the charcoal combination ones best...
That's what I was thinking for you -- the charcoal combo. As I wrote to you, I will use a burnished shade of red. Nothing so bright. But do you like the tie version [right] or the flatter front [on left]?
Your idea to put the artwork on the inset is super!
Very subtle and yet eyecatching...
Thank you so much, Haze!
I'm so glad that you like it.
I'll be cutting and sewing starting tomorrow - possibly Thursday - but I am looking forward to shipping early next week. Stay tuned. Progress photos will be posted.
