Skirting the Issue

Skirting the Issue is a unique line of sustainable, earth-friendly fashions designed and hand-crafted by Haze McElhenny of studio524. Each creation is a one of a kind original sewn from vintage tees, hand painted and embellished as you wish,  by the original artist.

Whether you prefer to shop the rack or want to have a skirt custom designed to your your specs you will be helping to better our global environment and making a contribution to the greater good.  Here's how:

All designs created under the Skirting the Issue label will always be sustainable, earth friendly designs. That is to say that they will always be created from recycled tees and worked by hand from my studio in Bethlehem, PA. Except in the case of recycling a client's favorite tees, I purchase the blank goods from one or more thrift stores that provide support to needy individuals and families. No new goods will ever be created for use in my designs. A portion of the profits of all retail sales from the Skirting the Issue website will be donated to the national chapter of Girls Inc.

*** Please note that I have no endorsement from Girls Inc, at present, and no formal arrangement has been made, but I will make my donations, amounting to a full 10% of the profits, on a quarterly basis.
